Week 10!!
On Week 9 I took a ferry to Victoria instead of partaking in Thanksgiving, where we cosplayed a European vacation.
Now I have a cold and way too much to do (two photoshoots in the next two days—including one where I get to fly a drone above the fields that are growing the turf for next year's FIFA games—finding and assigning several photo essays for a backpacking magazine, wrapping up a couple stories for Seattle Met, and finishing off all the projects from this quarter). On the bright side, energy inside the SCCA classroom is high and silly and chaotic. Read: Thomas Brodie-Sangster surveys, practical jokes, and lots of snacks.
In any case, here's a creative shoe concept for a thief. Last night I read a Spiderman book with one of my three-year-old besties, so I'm leaning into the super power vibes for this concept. Taking the thief prompt a step further, I designed the concept of a supervillain shoe equipped with track-changing soles, pop-out wheels, inserts for existing villain hardware, whisper-quiet anti-footstep tech, and an all-black color way that blends with Seattle's style.
I used Gemini's Nano Banana AI to turn my ideas into an infographic that could be presented at an internal villain pitch meeting. Yes, I was informed by Gemini that Superman and Doc Ock exist in different universes. Bring it up with the authors of this kids' book. I'm not an action movie gal; this kids' book is the extent of my knowledge of these universes, and they're surely enemies within the pages of this book.
