Our November desert fever dream (see: 600 feet above the desert) is finally out in the world, and it's impossible for me to see this work of art without immediately getting goose bumps. Every person who touched the project was pure magic, and I'm reminded of the warmhearted, fun, queer-joy-centered set every time I see assets from it.

World, meet "Have You Considered" by Pattie Gonia, Imogen Heap, and Boreta—with dance by Bandaloop. When I hear the song, I still hear it reverberating off towering rock walls in the middle of a remote desert expanse, dancers attached to ropes above a sea of sagebrush as Tim directs via radios over the wind. This project was hair and makeup in a small alcove of shade next to a rock wall; it was dust cementing ND filters to my lens and covering every piece of our clothing; it was on-set banh mis and scrambling up a rock gully with a handful of cameras; it was carrying wigs oh so gently and wishing we had the high heeled boots with Vibram soles; it was watching Imogen sprint down a beach barefoot, a crowd of 20 cheering wildly as our DP and AC attempted to keep pace; it was everything good about being human.

I culled and edited the BTS images from this shoot from the passenger seat of truck, jacket slung over the window to block the California light as we drove pulling the Airstream-turned talent trailer for two days  back to Seattle; looking through these photos again and the hundreds—literally hundreds, sorry Pattie—of BTS videos from the shoot was really something special. It feels silly to say, but I feel like I belong in wild places with people united over a vision, over a story. I feel so at home with a camera in hand, capturing the magic of creation. So here's a peek at that:
